A RETIRED West Vancouver
neurosurgeon, who played a
leading role in both the B.C. Med-
ical Association (BCMA) and the
B.C. College of Physicians, has
been elected to senior membership
in the Canadian Medical Associa-
tion (CMA).

Dr. Peter Lehman ...elected to
senior membership in the Cana-
dian Medical Association.

During his career, Dr. Peter
Lehman was a practising
neurosurgeon, a clinical instructor
at the University of British Col-
umbia, B.C.’s representative to the
CMA’s general council and presi-
dent of the BCMA and the pro-
vince’s College of Physicians and
Surgeons.

He also served as president of
Vancouver’s Osler Society.

Winnipeg born and raised, Dr.
Lehman graduated from medical
school at the University of
Manitoba in 1937. After com-
pleting his residency, he served
with the Royal Canadian Army
Medical Corps, achieving the rank

also a fellow of the Royal College
of Physicians and Surgeons of
Canada and a member of the
American Beard of Neurologic
Surgery and the Canadian
