WV council guarantees

public question period

DOES anyone have a question for
West Vancouver council?

This week, all six district councillors voted in
favour of a having a guaranteed public question
period each and every council meeting.

Effcetive immediately, council will now spend
the fast 15 minutes of cach meeting listening to
people ask questions in person.

The motion, which was proposed by Coun.
Victor Durman and seconded by Coun. Russ
Fraser, comes as good news to regular council
watchdogs,

waiting for their tum to speak. But more often
than not, they are denied chat opportunity

West Vancouver's record regarding public
question periods is dismal. For example, council
has oniv had two such periods since the begin-
