At the bottom of the 925-m (3,000 ft.) boarder run are handrails, snow-bogged cars, hips, quarterpipes, burly tabletops, trans- fers and fat gaps. The whole run is dedicated to boarders and is ser- viced by a new quad chair. Annual snowfall at Sun Peaks is 450 cm (177 ia.), and the resort has snow-making capabilities to cover 14 hectares (35 acres). The snow- making facilities have also been improved for this season, with the addition of a high-tech system dur- ing the past summer. The resort is an ideal place to take the kids. The mountain has developed an indoor facility for youngsters 18 months to 12 years of age. Also for the kids, and the less experienced adults. the sheltered Sundance Ridge run — home of the Sun Peaks’ ski school — is an ideal place to spend a day on the slopes. Another attractive aspect of Sun Peaks is its proximity to other great skiing destinations in the Okanagan, including Apex Alpine, Silver Star Mountain and Big White. With a lit- tle planning, and a weck’s vacation, you could string together an unfor- gettable week of skiing some of B.C.'s best skiing terrain.
