dians — many of them children —
are victims of fireworks accidents.
And, in many cases the accidents
are never minor, Fingers, hands,
arms, faces, vision and hearing
are easy targets of an explosion.

ON SATURDAY, October 20, the
Greater Vancouver Home Builders
Association (GVHBA) and B.C.
Hydro will present the second in
their series of What’s New in
Home Building seminars. The
seminars are meant to inform the
consumer on all aspects of home
construction.

The topics covered range from
framing and insulation techniques
to windows and doors; from
heating and fireplaces to ventila-
tion codes and systems; from
thermostats and controls and
domestic water heaters to appli-
ances and lighting. As well, ample
time is set aside to include an
open forum for questions and an-
swers.

Also included is information
about the B.C. Hydro sponsored
Quality Plus Home. Defined as a
quality built home, incorporating
top of the line materials and tech-
nology and constructed by special-
ly trained builders, the Quality
Plus Home features increased in-
sulation, efficient heating and
mechanical heat exchange and
ventilation systems.

The Quality Plus Home is fur-
ther guaranteed to offer the op-
timum in cost efficiency, comfort
and quality.

This is the first seminar of the
year and occurs tomorrow, Oct.
20 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the
Fraser Valley Real Estat2 Board,

cost to attend is $40 per person or

and information manuals.
