CHALLENGE CUP FOR ADULTS New features for Norwesters track meet Norwesters North Shore Open Track Meet will be held on May 18 and 19 at Handsworth Secondary. Meet organizers’ have changed the style of this popular annual competition, adding two adult races, and giving the event more of a community focus. In past years Norwesters sponsored the North Shore Elementary Schools Meet, held at Swangard Stadium in Burnaby. This annual “elite” competition was primarily of benefit to children enrolled in schools with high profile track and field programmes. Norwesters officials felt that changing to an evening Lacrosse bantams double Abbotsford North Van's” Bantam lacrosse team continues to impress. They ran_ their unbeaten streak to three by beating Abbotsford 8-4 on the weekend. The game had to be played in Mission because of the continued success of the Abbotsford Flyers hockey team. Their western final playoffs forced the arena to keep its ice surface intact. This deprived Abbotsford's lacrosse team of home mnnk advantage, an edge clearly missed. Todd Moody was on form for North Vancouver, rattling four past the Ab- botsford net minder. Lane O’Seen played well, scoring a brace of goals. Powerful Rob Sumner and nimblie- footed Jason Calla ac- counted for the remaining two markers. Assists were accorded Don Wagner, Brett Warren and O'Seen (2). they Rotary results Rotary little league action May 5S saw Eagles down Legion 12-6 with Rocky Lionas stnking out eight in getting the win.
