house prices. .

A typical three-bedroo
bungalow in Langley now
costs 72.6 per cent more
than it'did in June. 1980, up
‘to $126,000 from $73,000. A
Richmond bungalow is now
$165,000, up 58.7 per cent
_from $104,000. :

Only one area surveyed
recorded a price increase of
less than 25 per cent: East
Vancouver, where the
bungalow rose in price by
11.9 per cent.

Surrey recorded a staggering
80.9 per cent increase in the
price of the larger house
over the eight-month survey
period, from $93,000 in June
to $170,000 in February.
Prices were up 72.4 per cent
in Richmond, 50.3 per cent
in Kelowna, and 41.3 per
cent in Nanaimo.

Quebec; Prices in Quebec
varied considerably.  In-
creases were as high as 22.6
per cent for the bungalow in
Beaconsfield, from $53,000
to $65,000, The larger house
in Town of Mount Royal
increased ‘by 33.1 per cent
over the eight-month survey
period, $139,000 to
$185,000.

Ontarfo:Bungalow house
price increases were less
dramatic in Ontario and
were generally in the one to
cight per’ cent range.
Toronto area homes showed .

bungalow prices increased
20.5 per cent, from $144,000
to $173,500, and the larger
home prices increased 14.9
per cent, from $235,000 to
