Festival of the Arts. Her mixed media painting of the North Vancouver creek was chosen from among 266 entries from 12 regional juried shows held throughout B.C. Winning the Images and Objects show was a double honor for Sav- age, as it is a showcase of winners. Savage has had a lifelong inter- est in art, working with ink, brush and oils. ‘‘I am interested in the moment when close and intent observation of a natural form leads to a transformation of vi- sion, the moment in which essence and energy of the living object is felt and seen. This energy and beauty, not definable in words, is what I am attempting to express in my work,’’ says Savage. On July 13, Savage opens her Water Show at North Vancouver District hall.
