14. Wednesdas, September 9, 1987 - North Shore News Sports - Hillclimb scheduled for Seymour THE WESTVIEW-Ron Zalke Cy- cle Ctub will host its final event of § 20 on Mount ¥ the season Sept. Seymour. The Mount Seymour Hillctimh is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. with various race categories starting at 15-minute intervals thereafter. The race will be the final event of the season and will determine the best all-round riders in the province. Because it is a hillclimb, ride will be competing not only agains1 each other, but against the moun- tain itself. Without question, every rider will suffer some pain in their quest to conquer the mountain. Lower Mainland rider Brian Walton set the new standard for the Mount Seymour Hillclimb in a race last spring. Walton is currently riding with the national team in Europe. Spectators are invited to come out, enjoy the action, and cheer on the racers. Races start at 10 a.m., with an awards ceremony following im- mediately in the mountain’s top parking lot. The coffee shop will be open for refreshments.
