Vancouver For a time confusion reigned and rumors “of a serious assault” spread in what the North Van RCMP finally concluded as merely an “overblown fracas”. One report emanating from the “battle” scene was that a 15-year-old boy goaded a 17-year-old student into a locker room fight by throwing rocks at him and that during a scuffle, the juvenile hit his head on a bench and was knocked unconscious. Another report reaching police was that the boy had only fainted. An ambulance was called which caused a lot of confusion and the youngster was taken to Lions Gate Hospital. The RCMP says the “victim” of the fracas was _ checked over by a doctor in the emergency department and it was found that there was nothing wrong with him and he was sent home. A spokesman for the RCMP says the detachment received a number of phone calls from parents com- plaining about the discipline at Windsor School, and that . they “intended taking their complaints to the North Van school board.
