CHRISTMAS REQUESTS are
coming in. If you have some extra
time during the holiday season
consider volunteering. Your hefp
may be the greatest gift you give.
The following is a sample of some
of the volunteer positions available
at the North Shore Information
and Volunteer Centre.

MOTHERS’ MARCH requires
volunteers for phone duties Mon-
days to Thursdays 5 to 9 p.m. and
Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Also, in January, people are need-
ed to act as district and area cap-
tains. Give the gift of your time
and energy to this essential project.

CHRISTMAS BUREAU
ASSISTANTS. Eight friendly vol-
unteers are needed to display toys
and assist parents in toy selection
for their children. Also needed are
two or three drivers with vehicles
to deliver toy and food hampers.
Gas will be paid for by the bureau.
Time commitment is a few hours
daily, first three weeks of
December. If you enjoy and are

COMPUTER KNOWLEDGE?
A blind student is looking for an
assistant to help her with her’ ac-
counting studies. Volunteer should
have a knowledge of computers
and spreadsheets. Hours are at the
volunteer’s convenience. -

OUTGOING EFFICIENT per-
son with strong organizational
skills is wanted to develop and co-
ordinate a seniors health program
dealing mainly with nutrition and
exercise. If you have a nursing
background and an understanding
of the needs of the elderly this
position will interest you. Hours
are flexible, four hours per week.

ENJOY WALKING? A senior
citizen is looking for a female
walking companion one hour per
day, five days per week. Volunteer
can be any age and hours are flex-
ible.
