PHONEY COVERAGE of controversial "gub-

jects is commonplace in this liberal age, and last
week the CBC’s Journal showed us on two suc-
cessive nights how to provide it.

The subject was immigra-
tion, and you would have
thought from what the
panelists had to say that

f most white Canadians are
just busting to crowd the
country with the in-
habitants of India, China,
and the West Indies. And
the audience, one need
hardly say, was packed with
turbans and other con-
tributors from the far
places.

If the programs had been
any more slanted they
would have fallen off the
screen.

Barbara Frum (or
somebody) managed to pick

| a six-person panel that con-
tained not a single opposi-
tion voice. And by opposi-
tion I don’t mean those
duds in parliament who
would sell their mothers for
an ethnic vote, but inform-
ed opposition to a process
that is converting English
Canada to a fair copy of
Fiji.

There was no discussion
of numbers, no mention of
the social consequences of
immigration policies, and
no mention either of the
disastrous effects that
_Similar policies have had on
countries like the U.K.

Flora MacDonald was on
-parade, knowing she had
nothing to fear and
repeating the fuzzy wisdom
that the more immigrants
we have, the more jobs
there will be. She didn’t ex-
plain why, if that is so,

ly by Simon Legrees.

Then there was Michel
| Adams, described as an ex-
j pert pollster. According to

out just fine, and “‘the basic
trend is to more liberal
f values,’’ meaning that the

more non-whites we get, the

more the white peasants will
cheer.

Where did they find Ain,
for God’s sake? Every poll

in the past 25 years has J

shown massive aversion to
non-white immigration,
even the ones taken by that
wimp James Fleming when
he was minister for
multicult. At the time of the
boat people invasion, for
instance, 64 per cent of

Canadians as a whole and |

80 per cent of British Col-
umbians objected to the
numbers. Just fast Thurs-
day a Gallup Poll showed
that only 14 per cent of
Canadians support Ot-
tawa’s plan to increase im-
migration next year and in
succeeding years. Forty-two
per cent want it reduced.

Then there was the in-
evitable academic, an an-
thropologist called
Buchignagni (I think).
What he said escapes me,
but he too was a tame
mouth and stands in no
danger of being tossed out
of academe for subversive
thoughts.

Peter Pocklington, the
rich comedian from Ed-
monton, was number six in
the ‘line-up. What
qualifications were for
discussing immigration
even he doesn’t know, for

he confessed he hadn’t even |

thought about it until three
or four days before the pro-
gram was taped. But that
didn't prevent him from
rendering the idiotic opi-
nion that if we don’t admit
Asiatics, etc., in even
greater numbers, ‘‘we are
going to have the country
taker away from us’’.

it. So they forgot it. Which
was OK with me, since I
had no intention of being a
pawn for Frum.

The Journal is part of
this country’s left-lib, pro-
paganda machine. Cana-
dian. politicians,
while, have no plans to
serve the public’s wishes.
Their plan is to create more
Birminghams, Liverpools
and Notting Hills. Ask
multiculter Chuck Cook,
Ask fair Mary. Collins. Ask
your dog.
