By BARRETT FISHER IF YOU ARE a woman en- trepreneur, are planning on becoming one or are still dreaming about it, there is a seminar you should attend. Moneca Litton, experienc- ed in motivational training, is offering one-day seminars and a series of seminars in the new year on the ups and downs of women in business, which includes guest speakers who give experienced advice. Litton, whose background . includes fashion designing, writing, radio, cosmetology, manufacturing, television and business workshops, br- ings to the meetings a wide range of interests and exper- ience. **In all cases (her working ventures), I’ve learned to sink or swim,’’ Litton says. ‘I’ve been successful, and | want. other women to have that success, too. They can have it, but they’ll have to pay.’’ Pay for it in hard work, that is. Litton explains that women are getting tired of not receiving credit for their work, and are looking for a change. One example Litton gave was a secretary who worked for a large company, and then decided to take her ex- pertise and start her own company, a newsletter on Vancouver and Toronto stocks and bonds, but found her supporters backed out, leaving her with a $100,000 debt. **She fell on her bum, but she picked herself back up and is now very successful.”’ The next Litton seminar is on December 14, and will give a general overview of women working for themselves to generate an awareness in women. But the series of six lec- tures, which will run from January to March, will start 9-5 pm Monday thru Saturday Tel. 986-4178 9-5 pm Mon. thru Sat. Facto with finding the right business, which includes per- sonal satisfaction, and move into establishing a business, preparing a business plan, managing business finances, promoting and marketing a business and feeling good about it. The women can take all of the seminars or just the ones they feel they need, Litton ex- plained. ‘‘The series seminars help people continue their motivation. Most people go to a lecture and get all fired up, but 99 per cent of the time the positive input leaves the next morning. The con- tinued program keeps up the motivation and = provides direction.’’ Litton adds that **businesses fail because they haven’t taken time to chart their courses.’’ Because of the lack of entrepreneurial training available, Litton felt the need to get involved. She says the word ‘entreprenuer’ means risk and profit, ‘‘and damn it, even if you make dollies out of your home, you’re an entrepreneur. I'm big on let- ting people experience power. let’s do something good for ourselves.’’ And Litton should know because she has done very well for herself, so why shouldn't she share the mh aah Telephone 986-4178 No, It’s Not A Lot of BULL!
