A woman driving on East
Third Street in North
Vancouver Sunday was hit in
the face by an airgun pellet.

Illegal suites in the City of
North Vancouver must be
removed if they are
discovered during a building
inspection, City council was
informed last week.

This statement by director
of permits and licences,
Frank Morris, surprised
some aldermen who thought
that an illegal suite only bad
to be removed if there was
complaint about it.

The subject arose as
council considered an ap-
plication to. stratify a
building at 310-312
St.George’s Avenue.

Council turned down the
apphcation because it was “a
non-conforming unit” and in
the planners report, council
was informed that there
were two illegal! suites in the
building that must be
discontinued.

Alderman Stella Jo Dean
said she talked to the tenants
of the illegal suites who said
“they would have a very
difficult time finding other
apartments to live in.”
