at least.

In a precendent setting

case, a provincial judge in
Masset, on the Queen
Charlotte Islands, has
dismissed charges against
two people charged with
possession of the
mushrooms.

_ The judge ruled simple
possession of the mushrooms
in their natural state is not an
offense under the Food and
Drug Act, but - said
possession of
psilocybin is still illegal.

Since 1975 police have
been prosecuting people
who come to Vancouver
Island and the Queen
Charlottes in large. numbers
to pick the mushrooms.

There is a_ strong
possibility the Crown will
appeal the recent decision
which makes . possession
legal.
