sonal thing. Some people are

such as cancer as a challenge,

Wong said that in B.C.
medicine, there is a growing
trend towards a multi-per-
spective approach to treating
cancer. That includes using
psychologists and = natur-
opaths. Wong believes “per-
sonal health coaching” has to
be integrated into the medical
system

Acceptance of traditional
Chinese medicine is expand-
ing views about healing. said
Wong,

When Wong had cancer he
used alternative health
niques such as visualization.
He pictured the tumour cells
being attacked by healthy
cells.

Wong emphasizes the
alternative health measures
should complement conven-
tional medical rreatment for
cancer.

“1 think the biggest differ-
ence in our own bealth recov-
ery is being assertive and fol-
lowing a wellness philoso-
phy,” said Wong.

Wong talks to school chil-
dren about cancer. Youngsters

often ask why or how he gor
cancer,

Wong feels his cancer was
stress-related which weakened
his immune system.
