TWO MEN who police believe
stole credit cards from two
elderly women were arrested on
Nov. 29 allegedly using stolen
credit cards at Earl’s Restaurant
in West Vancouver.

Mare Lavoie, .37,.of no fixed

address, and Gabriel Hebert, 38, of

Montreal, appeared in. West
Vancouver provincial court on Nov.
30.
They were charged with two
counts of stealing a credit card and
two counts of possessing a stolen
credit card,..according to a. West
Vancouver - Police (WYP)
spokesman. Lavoie was charged with
two additional counts of using a
stolen credit card.

Police say the men fled the
Marine Drive restaurant when the

manager verified two Visa cards used
had been reported as stolen.

The credit cards were taken froin
the homes of-two seniors living in
White Rock and Vancouver,

Police say the men approached
elderly women in their 80s in their
apartment suites on the premise that
they were window “maintainers”
who had been hired by the building
owners to do an appraisal. Anyone
that has been a victim of a similar

scam may call the police at 925-7300. -
