This unprecedented collection of prestigious watches will make only two appearances in Canada — at Brinkhaus stores in Vancouver and Calgary — before being sepa- rated and sold individually throughout North America. The Crown Collection was assembled by the Rolex Watch Company of Canada but includes timepieces by Tudor and Cellini as well. Many of the pieces qualify as fine jewelry, featuring diamond, sapphire, ruby and emerald design elements and dials of onyx and lapis lazuli. However, functionality is also well represented. The Rolex Sub- mariner Oyster Perpetual and Sea-Dweller Oyster Perpetual boast stainless steel ‘‘oyster”’ cases that are pressure-proof to 1,000 feet and 4,000 feet respectively. OPTIONS FOR VOLUNTEERS THE FOLLOWING is a selection of volunteer opportunities avail- able through North Shore Com- munity Services (NSCS). THE NORTH Shore Communi- ty Services Society needs an orga- nized and systematic worker to update and maintain the volunteer teferzal data base. If you have some computer skills and are able to work well unsupervised. then call now. Training will be provid- ed and the hours are flexible. VOLUNTEERS who are friend- ly and good with the public are needed to conduct information and referral interviews with would-be volunteers. Duties in- clude phoning interviewees, inter- viewing, filing and record-keep- ing. The hours are flexible and training is provided. PEOPLE who are interested in teens are needed to work with a youth worker at a teen drop-in centre. The volunteer will help with social and recreational activi- ties, and have a lot of fun, too. BE A friend and role model to a young man with a mental hand- icap. He comes home to the North Shore twice a month and would like to have a friend to see movies with and to share in other recre- ational activities. OFFICE assistants are needed to help community health nurses in the schools on the North Shore. A DRIVER with a2 class-four licence is needed to drive a small group of seniors from their homes on the North Shore to Kiwanis Towers for dinner and back again.
