1, 1991 - North Shore News SPORTS 800 turn out for popular Coho Run MORE THAN S00 runners head- ed ou for the popular 14- kilometre Coho Run on Sunday. The run follows a scenic course from Ambleside across Lions Gate Bridge and through Stanley Park. over Burrard Street Bridge, around Vanier Park with the finish at Kitsilano. The Coho Run is organized by the North Shore Family YMCA and is pact of the Coho Festival. The run was created to publicize the annual return of spawning coho salmon to the North Shore streams. Proceeds from the run are donated to support the salmon enhancement program and out- door education programs in the North Shore and Squamish school districts. The major sponsors of the Coho Run are the North Shore News, Contact Printing and Mail- ing, Cap’s Cyles, CHQM FM, Superstar, West Vancouver Chamber of Commerce, the YM- Ca and Koala Springs.
