From page 3@ DIRECTORY ALERT FOR THE third time this year, B.C. companies are being bom- barded by solicitations that look like invoices. The Better Business Bureau (BBB) is being inundated with phone calls and copies of pseudo invoices from a firm known as “Classified Directory.’’ These in- voices were also sent to local companies in January and July of this year. The BBB reports that “Classified Directory’® has no connection with the telephone’s “Yellow Pages’’ directory. Distribution and circulation is unknown and advertising value is considered to be nil. The .umpany operates by mail- ing ‘‘look alike”’ invoices to tele- phone subscribers in the hope they will pass through the accounting procedures. The BBB warns that companies should alert their accounts payable departments to this practice. CONTRACTS AWARDED MORRIS INTERNATIONAL Trading Ltd., of Vancouver has received a $250,267 contract to provide disc skimmers to Trans- port Canada’s marine emergency division. The devices are used to clean up fuel and oif spills. Meanwhile, a second Van- couver-based company, Environ- ment and Social Systems Analysts Ltd., has received a $154,978 con- tract to assess forest management practices for Forestry Canada. This is the second phase of a larger study and is expected to be completed by March 31, 1992. *OUR BEST RRSP RATE 12% J] TBILL RATES" 11.10%/10.85% 11.55% 11.25%) 1.00% cai DAVID BLAIR . 682-1751 We offer a NG-FEE RRSP 500 - 1066 West Hastings Street.
