with the roars of The Retr of the Dinwsauts. This
new dinosaur exhibition features H authentic ‘Scale’
replicas, including four babres. These computer
controlled, pneumatically powered dinosaurs come
to SCIENCE WORLD trom the Dinamation com-
pany of California.

SCIENCE WORLD presents the dinosaur
models in conjuncdon with a wealth of informa-
gen concerning the many mysteries surrounding
lite during the Jurassic (225-150 million years ayo)
and Cretaceous (150-64 million years azo) periods
of earth's history, Although many new dinosaur
fossils have ben unearthed, unravelling the threads
of the past: is a tricky business. For many years
dinosaurs were stereotyped as gigantic, slow-witted
creatures incapable of adapting. The Rerum of the
Dinosaurs examines the research concerning this
assumption and demonstrates that, in some ways,
dinosaurs were one of the most successful species
that ever lived.

The Search Gallery is a treasure trove for
children. Accompanied by an adult, children can
explore, through touching as well as looking, che
natural history of British Columbia. A collection
of “critters” provides children with opportunities
to get acquainted with all kinds of animals, from
toads and fish, to spiders and snakes. The gallery's
hands-on theme continues with the ‘Discovery
Boxes) a collection of pull-out boxes filled with
items for up-close examination. Designed using the
latest. information on self-guided learning,
‘Discovery Boxes’ are just one example of the in-
novative methods SCIENCE WORLD uses to make
science fun.

the art of flying in all its forms, and explores che
selstionship berween natural and mechanical flight.
The film fearures spectacular flight sequences show-
ing how insects, Andean condurs, Mexican free-
tailed bats, re-creaticens of the Wright brothers’
planes, and QN-THE TIME TRAVELLER™, a
remote control replica of the prehistoric prerodac-
tyl, all defy the bounds of graviry. On SCIENCE
WORLD's Centre Stage, demonstrators explain the
science of bubbles, dry ice, momentum, inertia and
mayic.
