The four, two males and two females, ran away from a corrections officer while the group was hiking on Mount Seymour as part of the correctional facilities’ recréation program Wednesday. Search and rescue crews attempted to track down the quartet Wednesday night but had to hak their search because of darkness. Searchers went back to the mountain Thursday and continued the search, pick- ing up the trail of the four as uwoled to a steep, rocky area They finally determined that the four had left the moun tain and disappeared into the urban area There had been concern that the escape could have ended tn injury for the four who, according to police, were not properly dressed for a night on the mountain MARK MILTO To press time, the four had not been recaptured by police. The incident is the fourth of the year on the North Shore involving juvenile escapees.
