Members of Parliament will now be receiving
over $70,000 per year. This is a 63%. increase
since 1980. By the way, the average Canadian
gets about $23,000 per year.

THE CORONARY Care
Unit at Lions Gate Hospital
was the recent recipient of an
audioviewer, projector and
extensive slide program deal-
ing with cardiac rehabilita-
tion.

The equipment (valued at
$1,000) was donated to the
hospital by ‘‘The North
Shore Pump Primers,”’ a
group of former cardiac pa-
tients who are now par-
ticipating in cardiac exercise
programs at the Delbrook
Community Centre, West
Vancouver YMCA and at the
Lions Gate Hospital medical
day centre.

The presentation was made
by Bruce Ward on behalf of
the ‘‘Pump Primers’”’ to Jane
Solly, head nurse of the Cor-
onary Care Unit at Lions
Gate Hospital and Val
Leuchte, RN, the head of the
Cardiac Rehabilitation in-
terest group.
