Martinez, along with many other internationally famous The World Pro Ski Racers competing in the LABATTS PRO CLASSIC move into British Columbia in January for the first time. BIG WHITE SKI VILLAGE is proud to be the area chosen to host this event. The World Pro Skiing group of elite racers who compete in a dual racing format designed to make ski racing even more exciting will add a new dimension for international exposure to Big White Ski Village's program. The race week falls into Kelowna'’s famous Winter Snowfest which highlights a week of events for par- ticipants, skiers and non- ‘skiers alike. January 26th and 27th will prove to be the highlight of the ski season etd best in Kelowna at end of Demat with the very. best of the world skiers competing for their share of the $50,000 of cash prizes at Big White Ski Village. The Program will consist of a GIANT SLALOM on SATURDAY followed by a SLALOM on SUNDAY. In these races the skiers fly over three man-made jumps usually “neck in neck.” with the winners of each race advancing into the finals for the big money. . Included in the festivities will be a PRO-AM race on FRIDAY the 25th of Janaury that will involve many of Big White's local skiers. The Pro-Am is made up of a team of 4 with the Professional racer being the team cap- tain. The teams race three at skiers will beat Big White in Kelowna Janaury 25-27 for one of the races. a time and those with the most points earned (5 points for Ist. 3 points for 2nd, and 1 point for 3rd) move onto the next round. The Pro-Am team race, as feature, will prove to be added excitement and ‘fun for all participants.
