TACKLING the role of a lesbian mother is one
thing, but protraying a lesbian governess and sex-
ually liberated Victorian widow all within the same
play is something else. Actress Suzie Payne takes
this challenge in her stride.

Secondary and Theatre Arts
at UBC, Payne was a foun-
ding member of Tamahnous
Theatre, a left-leaning alter-
nate theatre company, which
stasted in the early °70’s.
