MANI Rezaei’s violent
life of crime in North
Vancouver reads like fic-
tion.

On Thursday in B.C. Supreme

Court, Crown lawver Mark Levitz MANI Rezaei,

friend, Siamak Zahedi and an unrelated kidnap
ping charge involving Randy Chan, the vounger
brother of a Lotus gang member.

Rezaci pleaded guilty to both charges.

The offences took place a few months apart in
1996, when Rezaci was 19.

In June 1996, Rezaci and Siamak Zahedi,
now 25, were the best of friends and partners in
crime, said: Levitz.

Rezaci and) Zahedi, ot North Vancouver,
would rip off people wanting to buy drugs. As an
example, according to statements Zahedi made
ta police, the two viriends would arrange to. sell
four pounds (1.8 kg) of marijuana to someone.
When the buver showed up , the duo would put
a gun to the buyer's head and steal the money.

Rezaci and Zahedi both took steroids and
liked guns. They had guns stashed at the Kezaci

Zahedi’s four unregistered guns were
a Smith and Wesson .44 magnum.

On the day before Rezaci tried to
kill his friend the nwo had a heated
argument over the phone. Rezaei
wanted to “burn a guy” who wanted
to buy drugs. Zahedi said no,
because the man in question now
worked tor Zahedi.

June 25, Zahedi was in a 300-black West 21st
Street basement suite occupied at the time by
two teenaged girls, Jennifer Eaton and Jacqueline
Lyons.

According to Zahedi, Eaton said, “E just saw
someone outside with a mask.” Zahedi said, * 1
thought she was whacked.”

A masked Resaci entered the suite through a
door that was left unlocked. All Alamdans and
Dan Burg were in the suite in addition to the girls
and Zahedi.

Lawyers identified Alamdari and Hootan
Foseli as unindicted co-agcused along with
Rezaci in the attempted murder case

In further nwist to the case, Rezaci admitted
town scaver police that he had paid a man to
spray bullets at Alanidari *s Central: Lonsdale
apartinent.

Rezaci shot Zahedi three Gimes with Zahedi's

chord, causing permanent paralysis trom) the
