Gaffney is senior vice-president and general manager of the Royal Bank of Canada. Nominations open for B.C. Senior Award Nominations for the 11th Annual British Columbia Senior Award are being accepted until Sept. 16. The 1994 award, which con- sists of the Brock House Society medal and a $10,000 tax-free grant from Hongkong Bank of Canada, wil! be given to a Canadian citizen aged 65 or older who is a resident of B.C. and has a demonstrated record of voluntary community service. The 1993 winner was Chief Simon Baker of the Squamish Nation, who was honored for his extensive achievements in enrich- ing the lives of aboriginal peoples and increasing understanding between aboriginal and non-abo- riginal peoples. The recipient of the award will be chosen by a seven-member selection committee. The success- ful nominee will be announced on Oct. 13 and honored at a special presentation dinner Nov. 17.
