Hi mailbox Dear Editor: May | use your newspaper to publicly congratulate the successful candidates in the recent election for North Vancouver School District Trustees. | would like to thank all of those who sup- ported me and voted tor me in that election. | was proud and grateful to be part of the democratic process, for | cherish that process, as a vital part otf the Canadian way of lite. | will always do my bit to protect that process. | decided to become a can- didate because | am a parent and I feel that more avenues of expression of parents’ con- cerns must be opened up, especially in a ume when our public education system 1s be- ing destabilized by economic factors, polarized politics and power grabbing. | think that parents have to bring a stop to the wars within our education system and bring all forces together to work for the obvious (and should be only) objective — the education of children for a tomorrow we can’t even im- agine today.
