Through the leadership of individuals, corporations, service organizations, hospitai staff and physicians, the Foundation raises approximately $1.5 million each year for equipment and renovations. This year funds went towards new beds, wheeichairs, and sophisticated surgical, diagnostic and monitoring equipment. Private donations now pay for one-third of equipment needed by the medical team each year. The Foundation benefits from the countless hours devoted to the community — Lonsdale Quay Market General Manager Patricia Parente and Lonsdale Quay by North Shore service organizations, including the North Vancouver City Hotel ‘‘Shooters’’ hockey team member Rob McKee (below left) are special Fire Department and the Canadian Progress Club. Pictured (aboveright) are friends of the hospital, raising funds through their summer concent series and Lieutenant Gavin Soames, Firefighter Bob Siegmann and Firefighter Bruce _ celebrity hockey gamies. Individuals like Elsie Mangles (below right) contribute Allen and (above left) Dick Tingley and Don Fender. over 65% of all donations to the Foundation. A long time supporter, Elsie has contributed towards equipment in ICU, the Maternity ward, Diagnostic Imaging and new beds.
