And what a cast of characters were on hand for this auspicious occasion! Premier Mike Harcourt was just back from the constitutional talks in Ottawa and he was joined by his Finance Minister Glen Clark at the do. The Laljis own Larco In- vestments, the company that owns Park Royal Shopping Centre, which is currently undergoing a zillion dollar facelift. Shiraz is a member of the Board of Governors of Lions Gate Hospita! while his charming wife, Shamin, is a member of the Lions Gate Hospital Campaign commit- tee. Both share an unfailing commitment to the hospital and its importance to the community. Andy was comparing his grey suit to that of the Park Royal Hotel’s Mario Corsi while jeweller Toni Cavelti and his comely wife, Hildegarde, tucked into the lasagna. - The generous Laljis’ goal was to . raise in excess of $100,000 for hospital equipment. it seemed to me before I departed that they were well on their way ...
