Lynn Valley community plan gets the final nod THE LYNN Valley Core Area Of- ficial Community Plan bylaw was recently adopted by North Van- couver District Council. The plan is a broad statement of philosophy which will govern future development in the area, “No major change in character is proposed for the area,’’ said Ald. Ernie Crist, ‘although overall increases in density are foreseeable in the next 10 to 20 years given current demographic trends.”’ Objectives of the plan include confining major commercial, in- stitutional and higher density multi-family residential develop- ment to the core area where com- munity services are most accessi- ble; encouraging a broad range of community services and land uses: protecting and enhancing heritage sites and buildings; protecting en- vironmentaily sensitive areas, such as prime stands of native trees and watercourses for future genera- tions. In a motion to amend the bylaw, Ald. Joan Gadsby recommended to ‘‘alter the area designated for protection of the natural environ- ment and extend the development permit guidelines designation to the new Karen Magnussen building Ardagh 986-4366 IVIPAIRED DRIVING Hunter Barristers & Solicitors #300-1401 Lonsdale Ave., North Vancouver Free Initial Consultation THE FOLLOWING is a list of re- cent North Shore crimes: NORTH VANCOUVER CAPILANO Break and enter —- 600-bIk.
