“Everyone is backing it.”
Not quite. Here is one
person — a pioncer resident
of the North Shore since
1918 — who is definitely not
backing the scheme,
whether it is to come “out of
our tax dollars” or not!

The majority of pre-war
residents of North Van
couver were intimately
familiar with the ships which
plied the Pacific coast and
sailed frequently in and out
of this harbour. Personally,
until today, I hadn’t heard of
the “Maple Leaf’.

I would also bring to the
attention of the individual
who wrote this article in the
The Sunday News of January
24, the “point” when a 70’
pleasure yacht becomes
transformed into the
“Bluenose” class.
