made memorable
Dear Editor:
Thank you North Vancouver for attending
in great and better numbers the Nov. 1] cere-
mony at the Cenotaph in North Vancouver's
Victoria Park.
The extra paving and contoured smail hill
were much appreciated.
Thank you to the veterans and the elderly,
some very frail. They have the longest memo-
ries of the world wars. During the fly-past, I
was that litte girl again, watching in 1930 the
first biplane to be scen in our district.
Thank you to the parents who brought
j their children. Nor one wail or voice of com-
mM plaine was heard in over an hour.
Thank you to the many, many military
cadets and their officers. All were smartly
turned out and marched and stcod so well.
Thank you to the Sparks, Brownies, Guides,
m Pathfinders and Guiders, Beavers, Cubs,
Scouts, Venturers and Scouters.
Thank vou to che municipal leaders, parlia-
memtarians and to those whose positions T did
not know.
There were those, who, for the first time
attended in complete uniform -— Fourth
Degree Knights of Columbus, wearing Baldnie
eape, chapeau and sword.
There were other gentlemen in flowing
white capes and small crimson hats with the
Cross of Lorraine. Thank you to. the Squamish
Band members in native hats and clothing,
who praceeded with such dignity. Their muf-
fled drumming and fow, chanted lament,
struck at one’s very heart of memories.
With a much greater crowd, with added
pomp and ceremony, this year’s Remembrance
Day gave us even more reason to stand all and
proud whilst holding dear, those who kept our
true north strong and free.

In his defence, Bittente

state categorically, that all the
