THE “RACISM” industry is going great guns these days, the idea being to convert Canada into a country that doesn’t know whether it is coming or going. It'll be going, all right. Going to pot. The forces of multicult are win- ning, backed by government grunts and propaganda, by threats from the mis-named human rights commis- sions, and by the lickspittle media. Be sorry for your grandchildren. Canada will soon be an amalgam of El Salvador, Ghana, Lebanon, India, Iran, Pakistan and a hundred other wonderful countries. The process is furthered by the _ NDP’s ministry of education. In July it instructed schools on how to be “anti-racist,” by which is meant : how to brainwash the kids into for- ’ getting their own culture in favor of others. Just right for back to schoo! time. . It gloated that: “British Columbia is home to people who have immigrated here from every part of the -world. Every major world religion and language is rep- resented in our province. “The variety of literature, art, music, folk traditions, customs and lifestyles that enrich our culture is a basic characteristic of our society and our provincial environment. “Many aspects of the cultures with which we have contact become, over time, part of our atti- tudes, beliefs, customs and lifestyle.” (My emphasis.) Of course. That’s why there were Dear Editor: The North Shore Crisis Services Society, which operates the Emily Murphy Transition House, views with regret the current debate regarding the Women’s Monument, Project. As an organization, the North Shore Crisis Services Society is ded- icated to working with women and children who have experienced vio- lence. We are concerned that the _ teal issue of family violence is being obscured by this discussion over taxpayer monies and the special interest groups. It is only through creating a cli- mate of zero tolerance of any form of violence against women and chil- dren that they can hope to live i in safety. In Canada, women constitute 51% of the population. Each year, one in eight is beaten by her partner. Each year, 50,000 to 70,000 chil- Doug Collins ‘ a ae “ ON THE OTHER HAND ——e cheers from minority MPs when the daily prayer in the Commons was changed to make them happy. That’s why Christmas is on its way out in our schools — a process aided by the very churches that should be defending it. Give a big cheer for future shock. Have another beer. Be happy. Let’s put on a wake. For ourselves. The covering letter that went out with the ministry's brochure was signed by one Reeta Sanatani, act- ing assistant director of the Sucial Equity Branch. (By which is meant social INequity.) Sanatani explained that “in recognition of the linguistic diversi- ty in B.C., brochures on the pro- gram will be available in Chinese, Hindi, Japanese, Kwakwata, Korean, Punjabi, Soanish and Vietnamese” in addition to Engtish and French. Is that all! What about Swahili, Akan, Zulu, Kaffir, Australian Abo. and all those other tongues that make ap the “Canadian mosaic?” What Jam penning here will be called “racist.” of course But what is racism? Jturn to the Way of the World column in the Sunday Telegraph, where it was pointed out that the Archbishop of Camerbury sents to believe chat “racist” is solonty a sin buc justabout the only sin there is. * Racism.” stated the column, “can mean anything from violent hatred of other races (the sin of anger) to a harmless feeling, com- mon to most people, that there are differences between races, and a general preference, also commen to most people, for people of their own kind. “Racism is often nothing more than what used to be called putrio- tism and was generally approved, ff a Christian cannot be a “racist,” then the majority of English people throughout our history have not been Christian, “The systematic campaign against ‘racism’ in the media and by every agency of persuasion ... is an attack on the very concept of an English nation.” Exactly, And here it is an attack on the very concept of a Canadian nation. Multiculturalism is itself racist. In Toronto, a Somali “refugee” told a white woman she should get out of the apartment elevator End violence please dren in British Columbia alone wit- ness Violence against their mothers. The task of sensitizing people to the reality of violence is formidable. We need the continued support of our community to break this cycle of violence.
