Kisteman won this match and went on to place fourth overall in his division. ‘Taekwondo students take on American counterparts TWENTY-THREE members of Darren Clarke’s North Shore Taekwondo Club competed March 28 in the American Taekwondo Association’s (ATA) regional championships held in Marysville, Washington. Five hundred and forty people aged five to over 60 participated in forms, sparring and board- breaking contests. The North Shore group won 12 trophies in the various age groups and belt divisions. in forms competition the fol- lowing students won third place: Kyle &rooker, Tyler — Browker, Kevin Quinlan and Xi-Xi Cheng. Nirveen Barsa placed second and James Zinck came first in forms competition. In the sparring competition, Brian Sanberg came third. Lisa Zinck, Sean Adiberg and James Zinck came second. In the board-breaking competi- tion, James Zinck and .Audey Yap both came first. The meet was ajtended by Grand Master H.U. Lee, ninth degree black belt and head of the ATA. April 9: West Vancouver Lawn Bowling Club will hold a ‘‘Get Acquainted" evening at 7:30 p.m. Anyone interested in the sport is welcome to attend. Lessons for new bowlers begin April 13.
