Triathlete makes Alcatraz splash

A newcomer to the misters cat-
egory at 40, Collins made quick
work of the 1.S-mile swim
through S7°F water from Aleatraz
to the San Francisco mainiand.
After 340 minutes of seimming,
Collins was 4uth to chanb from
the water our of a field of 278
competitors.

Nov. 3 Medico Cup in Bregenz,
Austria.

Senior gymnasts, Aparna Ray,
16, and Jody Jacques, 15, finished
Wth and 22nd all-around respec-
tively out of 32. international
competitors.

Meanwhile, junior gymnasts
Jenny Capmbcll, 14, and Angela
Orange, 12, finished sixth and
seventh all-around respectively out
of a field of 33 juniors.

Campbell’s top finish was se-
cond on the bars with a score of
9.475,

Meanwhile, Orange finished
first on floor with a 9.45 and
third on vault with 9.50. Howev-
er, she scored a low 7.95 on her
team routine, bringing down her
all-around score.

Orange was selected to compete
in the Medico Cup in the place of
the injured Briony Leckie.
