Golf course name changed

WHAT'S IN a name? Plenty, it
seems, when it comes to golf
courses.

West Vancouver District Council
voted recently to rename the
Ambleside Pitch and Putt golf
course to Ambleside Par 3.

Kevin Pike, West Vancouver
director of parks and recreation,
said that while the Gleneagles golf
course is continuing to do well,
Ambleside Pitch and Putt did not
turn a profit in 1989 and, accord-
ing to the district’s new golf pro-
fessional, part of the reason for
that loss is attributable to the golf
course’s name.
