smooth sailing.

Vincent-Lambert’s pageant
quoie — ‘‘Whatever it is that you
desire, with ali your heart and scul

yours and it will’’ — are words
she's lived up to.

But she said winning the pageant
won't go to her head. ‘‘Hey, I’m
still Leigh,”’ she laughed.

Todd said when Vincent-
Lambert won the title, ‘‘I said to
her to wear the crown with dignity
and ease."”

Next on the pageant agenda for
Vincent-Lambert is the PNE pag-
eant, starting Aug. 18. The 45 con-
testants will have 5 all-excenses
paid days at the Sheraton Vilia
culminating in the finals Aug. 22
when Miss PNE will be crowned.

‘I’m more excited than nervous.
I’m eager to do it, to go,”
Vincent-Lambert said.

She isn’t bothered Ly the nega-
tive image pageants have had of
past.

For her, the pageant was just a
“bunch of girls getting together,’’
she said.

She made some close friends
during the six weeks leading up to
pageant night and dismisses the
notion that she might be an cbject
of jealousy.

“Girls will get catty, but it takes
someone to see what it is and get
above that,” Vincent-Lambert said
in her trademark optimistic fash-
ion.

Vincent-Lambert, her runner-up
Princess Jodi Morris, Miss Per-
sonality Heather S:nith and the
other five contestants received a
number of prizes donated by spon-
sors for their participation and
elocution in the 1989 Miss North
Shore pageant.
