Hansen biography proves popular

ADVANCE ORDERS for Rick Hansen’s official
story, Rick Hansen: Man In Motion, officially topped
50,000 copies recently.

The book’s publisher, Scott McIntyre, president of
Vancouver-based Douglas & McIntyre, credits an un-
precedented groundswell of popular support for
Hansen and His Man in Motion World Tour with
almost doubling advance sales from an anticipated
30,000 copies.

Already at work on the manuscript, Rick Hansen
and writing partner Jim Taylor will chronicle
Hansen’s life and accomplishments, including the in-
credible 24,901.55-mile wheelchair journey through 34
countries and the millions of dollars for spinal cord
research it is raising, the story of Hansen’s love for
Amanda Reid and the compelling tale of his struggle
with tragic injury.

The book will arrive in stores across Canada at the
beginning of September.
