A22-Suhday News, November 9, 1980. community roundup Construction to restore foundations and roof of historic St. Paul's Indian church in North Vancouver has begun, the first stage of a restoration program for which the Save St. Paul's Indian Church committee seeks to raise $500,000. Yvonne Schmidt, chairman of the committee, announced Tuesday that Halse-Martin Construction has begun work to rebuild ‘Wills and Estates’ lectures this week North Shore seniors and other interested residents are invited to a free daytime lecture on “Wills and Estates” being held next Friday (November 14) and the following Monday (November 17) at four North Shore locations. Organized by the Regional Information -and_ Referral Service of the United Way with a grant from the Legal Aid Society, the lecture will address such questions as “Why should I have a will? Where can I get help?! Local lawyers have volun- teered their time. There will be ample opportunity for discussion and coffee will be served. The campaign has reached the $230,000 mark, including some $200,000 committed by the Squamish Indian Band, the Catholic Archdiocese, the provincial Heritage Trust and other trusts. The committee has recruited Robert F. Harrison and Partners, with Einar Carlson as the project archi- tect, to Carry out the archi- tectural work involved and last week put Halse-Martin to work on the actual restoration job.
