not work properly went into

Valley Road on November

The 40-year-old woman
pleaded guilty Wednesday in
North Vancouver Provincial
Court to shoplifting.

The court heard a long
detailed story from the
distraught woman which
began when she said she
bought a can opener from
Zellers that would not work.

After attempts to replace
the can opener, the woman

said she received a different
type of can opener which,
she was told, also sharpened
knives,

The woman said the
opener did sharpen knives
but did not open cans.

‘In the meantime, she said
she purchased a toaster from
Zellers which also did not
work properly,

She said she became upset |

with this toaster and threw it
in the garbage,

At this point she said she
went to Zellers "to get some
staff for free.”

The woman stole a
bedsheet, three towels and
