When { desperately needed a place to live, | went to the execu- tive director of the Kiwanis build- ings to see if they had a vacancy. Within a week, ! had an apart- ment at 351 East Ist Sr. It was painted throughout and very clean at the low rent of $130 per month. I couldi’t believe my fuck. I stayed in this apartment for ap- proximately two years. I then moved into a balcony apartment, which was also painted and clean, at the low rent of $140 per month. 1 have a nice bright bathroom, lovely nice white kitchen and a MAILBOX Kiwanis are generous landlords fair-sized living room. The best part of ali is my balcony, with a million-dollar view. Since [ moved in, Kiwanis has painted the front, sides, and back of the buildings. They have painted all the hallways and put down new carpets. They have painted the cecreation room, and the library and put in a television and VCR. We have exercise bikes, a walking treadmill and a shuff_e board. Does this sound iike a greedy landlord? They have painted the parking places in the back of the building. All the balconies have been painted, In the past year they have installed three mew dryers and three new washing machines.
