volunteer opportunities offered by
North Shore Community Services.

DEPENDABLE | students, 15
years and over are needed for
short-term intensive working ex-
Perience with handicapped
children. Students will work either
in group settings or one on one
with handicapped children involv-
ed in a variety of activities. Certif-
icate for volunteer hours will be
given. Hours are 9:30 to 11:36
a.m. and 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. from
Dec. 22 to Jan. 6.

WINTERFEST 1990 needs en-
thusiastic volunteers for the
Winterfest Family Festival occur-
ting Dec.17 to 30. Volunteers will
get involved with children and
families in a variety of fun activi-
ties including the performing arts,
sports and recreation.

VOLUNTEER grandpatent is
wanted to be a part of an extend-
ed family to a child aged three to
12 who has no grandparents in the
area. If you are over 40, have u
bit of spare time and like children,
join in this mutually benefiting

HEALTH related backeround
will be very helpful in this posi-
tion of telephone cancer infornmia-
Uien line volunteer, You will be
trained to give emotional support
over the phone to cancer patients
or family members and to answer
their questions. There are three
flexible one-half-hour shifts.
Monday to Friday, once per week.

RECREATION aide to help out
with a variety of fun activities
such as going to movies, walking,
baking, etc. Volunteer should be
patient and comfortable with the
physically handicapped. The hours

are ftlesible.

RELIABLE drivers with depen-
dable cars are wanted to pick up
and deliver hot meals fo seniors
limited to their homes. This is an
excellent opportunity. for coupies.
Hours are 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and
Fridays. Also needed fs a driver to
pick up food from a caterer and
deliver it to an office in’ West
Vancouver on Friday mernings at
10:30 a.m,
