The Optimist Club pro-
posed to counci] August 20
that the municipality enter
discussions to build an all-
weather, multi-municipal
sports stadium.

optimistic,’’ said Mayor
Derrick Humphreys.
: Council congratulated the
; North Shore Sports Stadium
‘ committee on its ‘‘excellent
report’’ but considered the
location of the inter-river
site too easterly and too
close to Empire Stadium.

Council directed staff at
the October 28 council
meeting to begin discussions
‘with the West Vancouver
Board regarding the poten-
tial upgrading of the track
at West Vancouver Second-
ary School to an all-weather
surface on a shared capital
cost basis.
