Inside. all aisles lead to a new central court,
where a massive space frame skylight admits
natural light into a large open area. land-
scaped with 1&-foot high trees and numerous
seating alcoves

The floors through the mall have been
redone ina light brown marble. and all the
store fascias have been replaced with modem.
curved banners

The natural lighting allows the visual effect
of the intenor to change subtly all day as the
sun moves across the sky, finally flooding the
court with golden tones as the sun sets behind
the mountains

TENANTS ASSOCIATION
APPROVES

The modem redevelopment has scored big
points with the mall's tenants. who see the
new centre as revitalizing the area

Rob Bovd, President of the Tenants
Association, and owner of Time Out Sports.
said the Association is 100% behind the
renovation” Weve been involved with Marathon
since the beginning and all our members
heartily endorse the project’s concept”

Bovd was particularly pleased with the
speed Marathon showed in completing the
construction work.

“Really, the mall was only under construc-
tion for six months Compare that to Park
Royal where its taken two vears. Our tenants
have not been placed under great pressure
and our customers have staved with us”

Bovds Time Out Sports was one of the
stores which undertook upgrading and retin
turing on its own

"We started in Februar and completed our
refixturing in March. just before Marathon
started Lanticipated a substantial growth
after all Construction was completed. but its
been really great - Ive already expenenced
