FOR TIME AND DEDICATION Red Cross TWO DEDICATED Red Cross volunteers were honored by the Society at the annual meeting of the local branch recently. An impressive number of years of service were record- ed by Mrs. Frederick McVickar and Mrs. D.M. Calder. Both have devoted countless hours to maintain the continuous community service of the humanitarian organization. McVickar joined the Socie- ty in the early 1920s and in 1944 received an Honorary Membership in the National Society of the Canadian Red Cross. In 1955 she was awarded the Badge of Ser- vice, and in 1970 the Distinguished Service Pin. As an executive member of the North Vancouver Branch she served as President from 1939-45, the demanding years of the 2nd World War. Her most commendable work however was her service as Chairman of the North Van- couver Blood Donor Service, a position she held for 36 years.
