names don't exactly ring a bell. You’see ... they were.
all handles for Detroit’s one-off “Dream Cars” of the
- 50s and 60s.

Dream Cars - the experimental jobs that were the
hit of every car show in those glorious years. Every
manufacturer built them, and they got pretty far out at
times .... like the turbine powered,. twin bubble ‘top-.

from 1954, that would lead a second life in the 1960s.
After being modified by George Barris, it re-emerged
as a TV star - the one and only BATMOBILE!

We're driving some of the Dream Cars now, but
new methods of manufacturing, new materials, and
new approaches to. design, herald a whole new era of
cars to dream on. By 1985 this revolution will have
consumed more than $80 billion of Detroit.cash, and
produced a fleet of cars and trucks quite different ‘from

‘those we know today.

Of course there's been a revolution in the way
people use cars, and in the way they buy them, too. In
fact, a large percentage of new cars are not even
purchased anymore.... they're leased! Growing
numbers of individuals and businesses are finding that
