Although we usually expect summer weather to begin somewhere around May, this year has been a huge disappointment. July set a new low for sunshine-hours in the Lower Mainland. The suinmer of 1982 set the standard for the gloomiest of summers with a low of 210.2 sunshine hours. With just a couple of days left in’ July 1993, we had received a mere 176.5 hours of sun rays. The month’s average is 295.9 hours. June’s sunshine was the eighth-lowest and was acecsm- panied by much rainfall, Considering that the past few months have averaged two deprees Jower than the usual temperature, we might believe we've been living through a season other (han summer.
