Survived by Evelyn, his loving wife of 46 years; daughters, Diane and Patricia; and son David; son-in-law Qwen Beaton; grandchildren, Rebecca, Brittney, Lisa, James and David. Also survived by one sister, Bessie Tryson and one niece, Karen Falk and family. Jim was born October 18, 1914 in Vancouver. He started his career as a seaman in 1935, Jim served with the Merchant Marines during the Second World War. After a fengthy career in the marine industry, retired as manager of Canadian Pacific Coastal Marine Operations. During retirement, Jim was active with the promotion of high speed ferries. He spent considerable time and effort toward the establishment of a high speed ferry service between the Sun- shine Coast, Bowen Island and Downtown Vancouver. Jim was highly respected and greatly admired dy the matine community which always tecognized his great joy for tife. op- timism and tremendous trish humour. Jim will be sadly missed by all who crossed his path. A memorial service will be held on May 3, 1992 at the West Vancouver Baptist Church at 2:30 p.m. Donations may be made to the B.C.
