ONE WEEK it’s the Sikhs, the next week the Chinese, then the Iranians, the Guatemalans, the Salvadorcans, the Sri Lankans, Vietnamese — and most recently the Panama- nians. Come one come all. Ninety per cent of them are phoneys and can eat their passports quicker than you can kill a hamburger. Many of them are accomplished liars. Many are crooks, Some spread death and destruction in their home countries and then bolt for cover here. Few know anything about our traditions, and some are confirmed killers (**Murderer hopes to stay in Canada,"’ as one headline put it.) What they know is that this is Wimpland and that thanks to our cowardly politicians we are the easiest touch in the world. So much so that we will fork out mil- lions and even billions, if neces- sary, to support them, just like we have forked out billions for bilin- gualism and other looney endeavors. I'm talking about the continuing refugee scam, of course. Not that you need me to inform you as to the general picture. You see it daily on your television screen and it’s probably enough to make you go see a doctor on account of high blood pressure. And still the poli- ticians hop around like blind mice. It would be simple enough to halt this racketeering rush to Canada — a rush aided and abet- ted by money-hungry lawyers, mad clergymen, and of course the vast, subsidized multicult industry or- reduced to a trickle.) It isn’t done because the WILL isn’t there. Ottawa would rather cuddle up to the ethnic associa- tions, The Baloneyites don’t even have the yumption to proclaim the ref. ugec legislation that was in the works for well over a year. OF course not. On the eve of an elec- tion, that might upset those ethnic ridings in Toronto. So they’ve delayed it for another six months. Meanwhile, the invasion goes on. West Van's indefatigable Charles Campbell knows all about this stuff. He's the former vice- chairman of the Immigration Ap- peal Board and has been roaming the talk shows and writing lettess to the editor. Here's some of what he has to say: “There is a backlog of 60,000 claimants. They are arriving at 25,000 a year. This is so because in The Baloneyites don’t even have the gumpltion to proclaim the refugee legislation that was in the works for well over a year. Of course not. On the eve of an election, that might upset those ethnic ridings in Toronto,”’ PA gs, pits ee SEND Baek UPS ganized by a government whose latest act of insanity has been to give you ‘the world’s first multiculturalism act.’’ All they have to do is to stipu- jJate that everyone coming into the country must have a visa, which is what the Australians have done. I think he knows the answer to that one. Since universal immigra- tion became the rule in 1968, im- migration ministers have fawned on the ethnic vote while hoping that the rest of us would not notice. So have prime ministers. Assistant school superintendent Patrick Bell revealed to the school board Tuesday that there has been an enrolment increase of about 354 students over last year. There are 113 more kindergarten students this fall, and an increase of 335 Grade 1 to 7 students. Sec- ondary enrolment has declined, however, by about 100. The 1988 enrolment total is 15,570, compared to 15,216 last year, This is the highest total since 1983's total of 15,601, Exrolment in 1981 was even higher, ut 16,572. Bell said the district employs 872.54 teachers, supplying a 17.1 pupil-teacher ratio. ‘*That’s about the same as last year,’ reported Bell. The pupil-teacher ratio, which was slightly higher in 1984, 1985 and 1986, takes into account all teaching staff, including ad- ministrators and librarians.
