Archer, a practising Yorkshire lad, has been introducing the far- flung reaches of the Lower Mainland to the real culinary meaning of fish and chips with Uncle Herbert’s and H.B. Ar- cher’s , located respectively in Delta and Richmond. The move to the golden shoves of West Vancouver was prompted by Archer's affection for the area and the rich local demand for fish and chips indicated by the number of past-Brits polishing lawn bowls within the municipality’s borders. A recent visit to Petticoat Lane on a suitably rain-soaked British British-Columbian evening proved an excellent antidote to damp outlooks and sodden socks.
